Running Pignic is a lot of work - leading up to the event, and the day of. Leading up to the event there is a lot of back-office work such as seeking donations to the raffle and social media management.
At the event we need a lot of volunteers for setup & take down, health checks & grooming, and running the contests.
If you are able and willing to volunteer, please fill out the survey below!
Come early and help us set up canopies, tables, chairs, and various stations so we are ready to welcome our piggy visitors and their human friends and fans. Stay late to help take down canopies, clean up any trash left behind, and get supplies to the parking area to be loaded into vehicles.
Our registration volunteers are the first face people see at Pignic! They welcome people to the event, take registration payment, sell raffle tickets, and provide an overview of the event rules, schedule, etc. They do not need to be guinea pig savvy.
This is a guinea pig savvy volunteer role that involves checking the health of guinea pigs for signs of communicable diseases such as mites, lice, or respiratory infections. Volunteers also weigh the piggies, check for lumps, examine nails and eyes, and educate attendees about the importance of regular health checks. Families whose piggies pass the health check receive armbands, indicating their pets are healthy and can interact safely with others.
This is a guinea pig savvy volunteer position. Grooming volunteers will do nail trims, ear cleaning, boar cleaning, and may also trim long haired guinea pigs if comfortable.
We are open to volunteers to help judge the veggie eating contest and the costume contest.
If you are familiar with, or willing to learn, Facebook Business Suite and help with social media posting of raffle prizes, save the dates, etc please let us know.
